I spoke to Kieran White, CEO and cofounder of Curo, about the problem his company is solving, expansion plans and how readers can help.
About Curo
Curo is developing a virtual depot platform that connects EV charger owners with commercial fleets across the country.
They aim to handle all the operational complexities like insurance, liability, payment processing and charger management.
For EV fleet managers, this means more locations to charge their vehicles.
For land-owners, this means an additional revenue stream from under-used EV chargers.
Kieran shared an example with me: a last-mile delivery company charging their vehicles overnight at an office building. This is possible because the employees go home overnight and the chargers are therefore not being used.
The help they are looking for
Every edition of Stories of Climate action gives you the the chance to engage and help people making progress in climate.
Right now, Curo is looking for help with:
Fundraising: Curo is planning on raising a seed round.
Strategic advisors: Particularly those with fleet-management, commercial real-estate, or financing experience.
Team members: Engineers to build their platform and someone with fleet management experience.
Finding sites: Curo want to find all the private and non-networked EV chargers across America, particularly Level 2 chargers.
“We spend a lot of time thinking about visibility at private charging sites and non network charging sites, so any increased ability to find them is incredible.” - Kieran White
Partners for charger financing: They are looking for a partner to provide financing to land-owners for charger installation.
“It would be really nice to be able to plug a financer in, where we already have an off-take agreement, and we already have a willing site host to just underwrite the transaction.” - Kieran White
